What am I going to do next week?

Hello everybody
Maybe you've seen my big smile today. Next week I'm off on holiday to Vienna and Budapest. I'll be sipping good coffee and eating cake in the Viennese cafes, taking a look of some of Klimt's paintings and checking if the Danube really is blue. As for Budapest, I'm not sure as I've never been before. Maybe you could send me some tips? Of course, I'll be thinking of you too. What will you be doing?

Dear Helen
The last timeI saw the Danube it was a sort or muddy brown colour as it went past our hotel. WE were in Vienna at Easter and it snowed as we drove home.

I wish you good weather and have a sacher torte for me.

How wonderful to see the blue Danube. Here we only have the Great grey green greasy Limpopo river all set about with fever trees.(And infested with crocodiles). Perhaps we could compose a new walz "The Green Limpopo".

I'm green with envy. Vienna is almost a second home for me, especially as until I came to China I worked a lot with the Austrian Ministry of Education and went to Vienna several times a year. Try Dehmel or Grienstein (not sure of spelling, behind Hofburg) for really good pastries, and look hard for Gigerl near the cathedral for great food and atmosphere. It's in a backstreet (sorry, can't remember the name).
In Budapest try Gerbeau for pastries.
I have yet to see the Danube blue!
Gute Reise!

Hi Helen,
I'm here at last.... I see Sheila got her invitation OK ;-)
My sister used to live in Vienna so I was unlucky enough to enjoy it. I thought Bratislava was wonderful too ;-)
